The "Glade" in Keller Glade

A glade is a clearing, opening or meadow area in a forest. When you ski or snowboard on a mountain trail through a glade, it’s important (and safe!) to look past the trees to the open space or gladed areas.

The concept of a glade serves as a metaphor for seeing clearly through to open spaces. It can also relate to being open to the possibilities of seeing our way through to different or new solutions. The thick trees of a forest represent clutter and can be anything we are working on that’s bogging us down. Sometimes we have a hard time getting to a more compelling strategy for our business, a more innovative solution, or a better relationship with an individual or team.

Working with a consultant or coach, or learning something new in a training program helps us to see beyond the trees that currently surround us, and helps us to become more open to the possibilities.
